Former couple Kyosu Guinto and Jaja Disuanco, now an onscreen love team, are rekindling their partnership—this time, not as lovers, but as co-stars in the romantic-comedy film Un-Ex You, which stars real-life couple Kim Molina and Jerald Napoles.
During the film’s press conference, the two addressed the inevitable question: can exes really be friends?
“For me, it depends on the history you shared and how the relationship ended. If there was no cheating or unsolvable conflict, I think there’s a chance to remain friends,” Kyosu told Manila Standard Entertainment.
Jaja, echoing Kyosu’s sentiments, shared that their breakup stemmed from personal pressures rather than betrayal.

“We talked about it after we made amend. He told me the breakup happened because he felt pressured—not because of friends, but because he thought he couldn’t match what I was giving him. There was no cheating,” answered Jaja.
The pair first rose to fame and went viral after appearing in the “EXpecially For You” segment of the noontime show It’s Showtime in 2023. The segment took an unexpected turn when Kyosu confessed he still had feelings for his ex — a sentiment Jaja admitted she shared. The emotional twist resonated with viewers and catapulted them into the spotlight.
They revealed that their breakup was not due to infidelity but because Kyosu struggled to keep up with Jaja’s more comfortable lifestyle.
Now, as they step into the world of acting, the ex-couple admitted that working together again has strengthened their bond, albeit in a different way.
“We didn’t spend much time together before because my parents were strict. Now, during shoot days, we get to talk and bond more,” Jajaj shared.

Their experience filming Un-Ex You was a milestone for both, as it marked their movie debut.
“At first, I was really nervous since it was our first time doing a movie together. It’s a huge achievement for me because it was just a dream before—and now it has come true. I can honestly say Jaja was amazing. You’ll see a different side of her in the movie compared to how she is in real life,” Kyoau stated.
Jaja also opened up about the challenges she faced during the shoot.
“I had to adjust a lot in the beginning. Thankfully, Miss Candy [Pangilinan]and Kuya Je were there during our first scene. I was so nervous—my heart was racing—especially since I was working with veteran actors,” admitted Jaja.
They also credited their co-stars, Kim and Jerald, for helping them adjust to their new dynamic.
“I learned a lot from Kuya Je and Ate Kim. In acting, they taught me not to be too nervous, just be yourself, and show who you really are,” Kyosu shared.
Jaja added that the couple also gave them valuable relationship advice.
“They told us to always communicate, that’s the key. You need to maintain the love by keeping the communication strong,” she said.
When asked if there’s a possibility of reconciling romantically, both emphasized that they would want to focus on their careers first.
“We’re focusing on our careers right now,” Jaja said firmly.
Kyosu echoed, saying, “We’re not really thinking about getting back together. Our focus is more on our careers right now.”
