Several young Filipino filmmakers took home awards at the 2024 Don Bosco Global Youth Film Festival (DBGYFF).
At the festival’s grand finale in New York, Lorenzo De Castro’s Ballers and Andrea Leuer Godinez’s Beacon of Dreams won Best Editing and Jury Best Music Video awards in the Category Bests, respectively.
Meanwhile, Clyde Enrico Cruz’s One Note One Hope, Bryle Fernandez’s Badjao: Kinabuhi ug Damgo, and Daniela Jamandre’s It Rhymes with Green were among the top 10 winners in the Regional Bests category for the East Asia & Oceania region.
The Don Bosco Global Youth Film Festival is a two-day event held across 136 countries, aiming to provide a platform for young filmmakers to showcase their talents. Awards are presented in five categories: Global Bests, Category Bests, Young Bests, Regional Bests, and Jury Choice. All category winners, except Global Bests, receive a cash prize of €1,000.
The third edition of the festival took place on Oct. 17 and 18.
