DreamWorks Animation’s ‘The Wild Robot’ to hit local theaters in October

DreamWorks Animation is bringing Peter Brown’s famous book The Wild Robot to life in a new movie. It tells the story of ROZZUM unit 7134, nicknamed Roz and voiced by Lupita Nyong’o.

Roz gets stuck on a faraway island after a shipwreck and faces a wild nature there. She ends up taking care of a baby goose and making friends with other animals on the island.

Voice talents for the film include famous Hollywood actors like Lupita Nyong’o, Pedro Pascal, Catherine O’Hara, and Bill Nighy

Starring alongside Nyong’o are notable talents including Pedro Pascal as the cunning fox Fink, Catherine O’Hara as the spirited opossum Pinktail, and Bill Nighy as the wise goose Longneck. 

The cast also features Kit Connor as the endearing gosling Brightbill and Stephanie Hsu as Vontra, a fellow robot whose path intertwines with Roz’s journey.

Director Michael Govier brings Brown’s beloved story to life, promising a heartfelt story that explores themes of adaptation, family, and the power of unexpected bonds. The film’s ensemble cast includes Emmy-winning icon Mark Hamill, Matt Berry, and Golden Globe winner Ving Rhames.
