Streaming service Netflix has announced that the live-action series of “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” starring Fil-Am actor Gordon Cormier as Avatar Aang, is confirmed to have its second and third seasons.

“The Avatar will return!! Seasons 2 & 3 of AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER are coming!” the streaming service said on its official X account.

The live-action series is based on the Nickelodeon animated show of the same name. Following the success of its first season, many have been looking forward to the adaptation of the next two seasons.

The official X account of the live-action series also released a screen recording of the meeting among the main cast members where Daniel Dae Kim, the actor of the show’s main antagonist Fire Lord Ozai, had told them the news.

Kim teased the cast by first saying that Netflix was not able to announce a second season for the show, garnering looks of disappointment among the actors. He followed up by saying that the streaming service instead confirmed both seasons 2 and 3, which elicited cheers and a sense of relief among the rest of the cast.

Cormier joined his fellow cast members in jokingly complaining about Kim’s prank as they all laughed it off.

“Why would you do this to us?” Cormier said while laughing with the rest of the cast.

“We’re going to be seeing more of each other over the next few years,” said Kim to all of them.

The prank also drew laughs from the replies on the post as fans expressed their enjoyment over the cast’s reactions as well as Kim messing with them.

Many fans have also expressed their excitement about the second season as it will introduce Toph, a well-loved character among fans of the original animated show that the series was based on.

Since the announcement of the show, many have been anticipating who will be cast in the iconic role and hoping that the casting decision will stay true to the character in the show. However, her actress along with other details such as the premiere dates and other actors have yet to be revealed as of writing.

Joining Cormier in the cast are Kiawentiio, Ian Ousley, Dallas Liu, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, Daniel Dae Kim, and Elizabeth Yu.
