We all want to dream of a life where we’re comfortable and happy. Living a life of authenticity according to our liking gives us a sense of fulfillment that’s second to none. But what would happen if the life we know isn’t what we thought it was? With secrets and lies around the corner, it’d be hard to deal with and trust the people we once loved.

That situation is what viewers can expect from notable actor Ariel Rivera’s return to GMA 7 for the drama series The Fake Life, and he couldn’t be happier with this decision.

Ariel Rivera plays the role of Onats Villamor in ‘The Fake Life’

“I love GMA. I’ve always loved GMA. I’ve so many friends here in GMA, and I hope we have plans. I like the atmosphere here in GMA and how the staff is. The people we work with are more down to earth than some people I’ve worked with,” he said during the online media conference for The Fake Life.

Ariel also shared that he didn’t like working during weekends because he allots that time for himself and his family, hinting that returning to weekend shows isn’t an option for him at present.

He plays the role of Onats Villamor, a loving husband and devoted father. Onats runs a bee farm to provide for his family.

Joining Ariel in The Fake Life Beauty Gonzalez, who plays his wife, Cindy Villamor, who’s also dedicated to her family but has a dark secret that will rattle their quiet life and change the course of their fate.

Beauty takes on the challenge of a wife who wronged her husband

Upon learning that she’ll be starring alongside veteran actors like Ariel, Beauty began preparing herself for the role. She also shared that she always gives her best during her scenes with her co-stars.

Compared to her previous roles, Beauty admits that she’s ready to face the ire of the audience because she’ll play the wife who made a mistake.

“Ako kasi pag tumatanggap ng role, hindi ko jina-judge yung role na binigay sa akin. I read the script, nagustuhan ko siya, and I took the challenge. I know people who failed the way Cindy failed and it’s a privilege to portray those roles na hindi nila masabi in real life pero masasabi nila na, ‘Ay, ako yan’ or ‘Ay, naiintindihan ko siya,’” she said.

Internationally-acclaimed director Adolfo Alix Jr., known for his work in independent films, directed The Fake Life. He shared that aside from being a family drama, the series also combines known actors from different generations. They’re varying takes on their roles make it an exciting watch because the cast has their take on how to portray their characters appropriately and push the story forward.
