The Mano Po Legacy returns with another exciting series that promises to delight viewers everywhere. Titled Mano Po Legacy: Her Big Boss, the primetime soap diverts from the usual intense drama to bring kilig and laughter as a romantic-comedy series.

“If you like the first Mano Po, which is actually a drama, you’re going to enjoy this one because you’re going to fall in love. Ang mahirap lang dito, sino pipiliin mo? ‘Yong boyfriend mo na nagmamahal sa’yo or ‘yong boss mo na nagmamahal din sa’yo,” said First Vice President for Program Management Department at Gma Network Inc. Jose Mari R. Abacan during the online mediacon for Mano Po Legacy: Her Big Boss.

COO and Vice President of Regal Entertainment Inc. and Regal Multimedia Inc. Roselle Monteverde assures viewers that they’ll be surprised again with the new series of Mano Po with its cast, revelations, and script.

“Kahit na rom-com ito, siguradong meron ding mga iconic lines na manggagaling sa mga characters,” she said.

Mano Po Legacy: Her Big Boss brings together Kapuso stars Bianca Umali, Ken Chan, and Kelvin Miranda to make audiences laugh, fall in love, and experience the struggle in choosing between two people who have strong feelings for you.

Bianca plays Irene, known as the “bubbly assistant.” Ken plays Richard, the “geeky boss,” while Kelvin is Nestor, the “perfect BF.”

Despite the lightheartedness of the upcoming series, Bianca, Ken, and Kelvin reportedly struggled with some of the scenes as they’re accustomed to playing dramatic roles.

Bianca shared that her character in the series is far from her personality in real life, which is why she finds the role of Irene challenging.

She found the extreme energy of her character to be somewhat tiring, considering that she has to remain bubbly throughout the production, yet it was a welcome experience for Bianca as she got to encounter a role outside her comfort zone.

“Ngayon ko siguro napatunayan na na-underestimate ko ‘yong meaning ng comedy. Hindi siya pahinga from drama, it’s something else. It’s as good as doing a heavy drama series,” she said.

Bianca also prepares for the show by building a good relationship with her co-stars and understanding the script as best as she can during story cons.

Also joining Bianca, Ken, and Kelvin are Ricardo Cepeda, the “patriarch”; Marina Benipayo, the “socialite mom”; and Pokwang, the “devoted single mom”; Teejay Marquez, the “charming boss”; Sarah Edwards, the “aggressive GF”; Sarah Holmes, the “bored bratinella”; and Blue Cailles, the “rocker BF.”

Spearheaded by Easy Ferrer, the new installment of Mano Po marks several firsts for the director.

“First time ko mag-teleserye na ako talaga ‘yong head, first time na ang Mano Po ay romcom kasi usually ay family saga ‘yan, first time makikita si Bianca at si Ken in a lighter scenario, and first time na ganito kalaki ‘yong cast,” he said.

The director added that the production heads planned the series before and developed it as a rom-com, so audiences receive a wide range of genres through the Mano Po Legacy series.
