Viewers nationwide continue to watch ABS-CBN programs in October

Filipinos across the country still tune into ABS-CBN for their daily news and entertainment fare as the network logged an average audience share of 44 percent in October, versus GMA’s 31 percent, according to data from Kantar Media.

FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, (35 percent) the country’s longest running primetime program for four years now, is still the top choice of viewers nationwide, while The General’s Daughter (34.1 percent) ended its run strongly.

 The Voice Kids (30.2 percent) remained as the most-watched weekend show, while Parasite Island (28.8 percent) proved to be a hit among viewers. Rounding out the top five most watched programs nationwide is TV Patrol (28.2 percent).

 Making its debut in the top ten is new Kapamilya teleserye Starla (28.1 percent). Completing the list are Home Sweetie Home: Extra Sweet (25.5 percent), Maalaala Mo Kaya  (24.6 percent), and Rated K: Handa Na Ba Kayo? (23.2 percent).

Meanwhile, ABS-CBN also won all time blocks in October, asserting its lead in primetime (6:00 p.m. to 12:00 mn) where it recorded 47 percent share, versus GMA’s 32 percent; in the afternoon block (3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.) with 45 percent, compared to GMA’s 34 percent; in the noontime block (12:00 nn to 3:00 p.m.) with 44 percent, versus GMA’s 30 percent, and in the morning block (6:00 a.m. to 12:00 nn) with 38 percent, in contrast to GMA’s 27 percent.

Likewise, the Kapamilya network also emerged triumphant again Metro Manila as it registered 41 percent share, versus GMA’s 25 percent. In Mega Manila, ABS-CBN registered 35 percent, while GMA got 32 percent.

 In Total Luzon, ABS-CBN earned 40 percent, versus GMA’s 33 percent. It also won in Total Visayas with 53 percent, beating GMA’s 25 percent, as well as in Total Mindanao with 49 percent, trailing GMA’s 28 percent.  

 Multinational audience measurement provider Kantar Media uses a nationwide panel size of 2,610 urban and rural homes that represent 100% of the total Philippine TV viewing population.
