Over the weekend, GMA Network again took part in Baguio City’s famous flower festival—the Panagbenga—this time with Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid joining the cast of hit TV series Sherlock Jr., and The Stepdaughters together with the upcoming afternoon prime soap Contessa.

Through GMA Regional TV, the Kapuso Network brought to the City of Pines on Feb. 24 the second public auditions for the newest singing competition, The Clash.

BThe Clash is set to feature hopefuls who will compete against each other to be the country’s next solo singing superstar. Just last week, hundreds of hopefuls invaded the program’s Cebu-leg auditions where Regine was also present.

The Baguio-leg of the auditions, which was held at the Sunshine Park, accommodated aspirants beginning 10:00 a.m.. The competition welcomed all male and female Filipinos, amateur and professional, 16-years-old and above. They also prepared two songs (English and Filipino) for the audition.

Additionally, as part of the Network’s treat to those in Baguio City, GMA Regional TV organized a ‘Kapuso Meet and Greet’ with Regine at 4:00 p.m. in the same area.

“These Kapuso events are our way of giving-back to our loyal viewers,” says GMA Regional VP and Head Oliver Amoroso. “If The Clash’s Cebu-leg audition is any indication, we have a lot of great singers in our country. It’s just a matter of time for them to be discovered. We are happy that we are the ones discovering them through The Clash. On the same manner, we are proud to bring some of our Kapuso stars to Baguio to celebrate the Panagbenga Festival this year. We are very grateful for the support of our Kapuso viewers in the regions. They are the reason why we are here.  We hope they continue to keep us number one nationwide,” he ends.
