Derrick Monasterio is giving people many reasons to call him the Kapuso Network’s hottest property, literally and figuratively.
It was a TV moment for the 21-year-old actor when an episode of Mulawin Vs Ravena featured him being tortured. He was tied upside down and repeatedly plunged into water. The young actor claimed that no double was used in doing the scene, although it was the same reason why he fainted on the set.
Amid his exceptional performance in this episode, it’s not the reason why people are talking about him and why the entire World Wide Web was so abuzz about the actor of late.
In the same episode, shown on July 3, his character Almiro turned into a full-bloomed Mulawin. His memory eventually returns and now remembers his mother Alwyna (Heart Evangelista) who pulled out his ugatpak thus leaving a root in his back.
“It has the makings of every gay’s fantasy: A piece of cloth slowly removed, a sculpted bod heavily oiled, and then that long exposure to make thy gay-manity drool,” one article says about the scene when Derrick’s wings emerged making him look like more of an archangel.
Following his transformation in the series, he will be called Rodrigo by Lola Consuelo (Nova Villa), after her real son’s name. Later on, he will regain his Mulawin abilities as he is the destined next “sugo” after his late parents.
