Two of the country’s biggest music acts, folk-pop band Ben&Ben and P-pop group SB19, delighted fans on Friday with the announcement of their upcoming collaboration set for June 27 release.
Both bands shared a teaser photo for the collaboration project on their social media pages, sending fans into a frenzy and taking the top trending spot on Twitter with the hashtag #SB19xBenAndBen.
While there are no announcements yet if there is going to be a new song, both A’TIN, and Liwanag, the group’s fandoms, speculated that the collaboration might be a rendition of SB19’s ballad track “Mapa,” since it was included in the official hashtags for the teasers. “Mapa'' is SB19’s tribute piece for their parents, and is a follow-up single to their hit song “What?”
The P-pop kings recently made history as the first Filipino act to be nominated for a Billboard award alongside K-pop icons, BTS, Blackpink, and Seventeen.
Not long ago, Ben&Ben also teamed up with Young K of the South Korean rock band, Day6. The collaboration featured a remake of their 2016 single, “Leaves.”
