After two years without new releases, the girl group MNL48 has teased its upcoming 8th single, “Summertime.”

In a video posted on the group’s official social media pages, behind-the-scenes footage featuring the current members of the group was revealed. The video included clips of the girls dancing in all-black outfits adorned with sunflowers.

“First glimpse of MNL48’s newest single, Summertime! We’re dropping everything shortly, so keep an eye out!” the group said on its official X account.

While the release date has yet to be announced, longtime fans expressed their excitement as it had been two years since the group released “No Way Man,” its 7th and most recent single.

MNL48 is a girl group serving as the fourth international sister group of J-pop hit girl group AKB48, debuting in 2018 after a nationwide audition hosted on “It’s Showtime.”

Like all sister groups of AKB48, MNL48 released songs that were translated versions of the original J-pop girl group’s songs.

MNL48 debut single was “Aitakatta – Gustong Makita,” followed by their hit second single “Pag-ibig Fortune Cookie.” The group’s first original track, “HASHLOVE,” was released in December 2020.
