K-pop icon V from global boy group sensation BTS is set to release an upcoming solo single, “FRI(END)S.”

In an Instagram story posted on the boy band’s official account, there was a photo of a broken phone bearing the cover of V’s single, which included the words “The End” in front of a pink background.

The official account also posted an Instagram reel which included various shots of V along with a few clips of items taken with an old camera, appearing to be a teaser for the upcoming song.

Fans expressed their excitement for the upcoming single release as many are still anticipating the group’s promised reunion in 2025 after all of the members have finished their mandatory military enlistment.

In 2022, BTS announced that the group would be going into a hiatus following the scheduled enlistment of the members. The group’s oldest member, Jin, was the first to enlist while the rest began their service in 2023. V is currently enlisted under the 2nd Army Corps in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do.

Debuting in 2013, BTS rose to global fame through their soulful music with nine studio albums to their name with some of their hit songs being “Boy With Luv,” “Fake Love,” “Spring Day,” “Blood, Sweat, and Tears,” among many others.

Aside from V, other members of the group had also ventured into solo activities while the band’s hiatus went on. Jimin, Suga, and Jungkook also released their first solo albums in 2023, which were “FACE,” “D-DAY,” and “GOLDEN” respectively.

V’s newest single is slated for release on March 15.
