K-pop group ENHYPEN has unveiled its stunning rendition of the global supergroup BTS’ “I NEED U”, marking the first release in Spotify’s K-Pop ON! (온) First Crush campaign.

The project features three exclusive covers by renowned K-Pop artists, honoring their “sunbaes” (senior artists) who sparked BTS their love for the genre.

“[We chose this song because] we want to show a new side of ourselves through a song and performance that has a sentimental vibe,” the ENHYPEN members said.

ENHYPEN is set to put its own distinctive spin on “I NEED U,” opting for an acoustic rendition of the song arranged by HYBE founder and producer Bang Si Hyuk, in contrast to the original’s electronic synth sound. Moreover, the group will unveil a dance performance accompanying their fresh interpretation of “I NEED U.”

“We all love this song, so it’s especially meaningful that we can express the story of our K-pop first love through this song. We also heard that this is the first time producer Bang Si Hyuk has agreed to rearrange one of BTS’s songs. We’re honored that he personally participated in the rearrangement,” they added.

Since the group’s debut in 2020, ENHYPEN has grown into a global phenomenon. Their music transcends language and cultural barriers, amassing over 8.7 million monthly Spotify listeners and ranking as the fifth most-streamed K-Pop Boy Group on Spotify Wrapped 2023.

Earlier this month, ENHYPEN returned to the Philippines as part of its FATE concert tour, filling up the New Clark City Stadium in Capas, Tarlac with thousands of fans.
