Manila is witnessing the extraordinary as the much-celebrated musical Hamilton takes center stage. The timeless masterpiece created by Lin-Manuel Miranda premiered on Broadway to widespread critical acclaim and has since become a cultural phenomenon.

With book, music, and lyrics by Miranda, direction by Thomas Kail, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, Hamilton is based on Ron Chernow’s acclaimed biography.

Filipino theatergoers can catch ‘Hamilton’ shows until November 26.

The musical tells the captivating story of Alexander Hamilton, one of America’s founding fathers, through a unique blend of hip-hop, jazz, R&B, and Broadway. It’s a revolutionary work of art that has garnered numerous accolades, including Tony, Grammy, and Olivier Awards, as well as the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

The impact of Hamilton extends far beyond the stage, influencing culture, politics, and education in profound ways.

The Hamilton creative team previously collaborated on the 2008 Tony Award-winning Best Musical In the Heights. Scenic design is by David Korins, costume design by Paul Tazewell, lighting design by Howell Binkley, sound design by Nevin Steinberg, and hair and wig design by Charles G. LaPointe.

The international tour of Hamilton is produced by Jeffrey Seller, Sander Jacobs, Jill Furman, The Public Theater, and Michael Cassel. The Manila season is presented by GMG Productions.
