From the stunning visuals that help highlight the elements of time-travel and culinary arts, to the chemistry between its lead stars and various conflicts among the rest of the characters set in a non-linear story-telling, GTV’s The Lost Recipe has been winning the hearts of the viewers for providing a different kind of drama on local television.

The series has charmed viewers with its flavorful mix of love, comedy, and fantasy set in picturesque Manila.

The primetime drama, which premiered in January, follows the story of Harvey (Kelvin Miranda), a failed chef who gets the chance of a lifetime when he manages to travel back in time to steal a famous recipe and make it his own. While chasing his dream to build a culinary empire for his family, he meets Apple (Mikee Quintos), an aspiring chef who gets to work in his company.

Kelvin Miranda and Mikee Quintos have taken viewers to an extraordinary tale of love in ‘The Lost Recipe,’ which charms viewers with its flavorful mix of love, comedy, and fantasy set in the picturesque Manila.

Now that the series is airing its last episodes this week, its lead cast members talk about the valuable lessons viewers can learn from their characters.

Mikee believes that those who have been religiously following the series have come to know her character as someone who is brave and strong-willed. But what has endeared the audience to Apple is her being a genuine person.

“The viewers have loved my character for being true to herself. I hope the viewers also learn how to be like her. She’s honest about her feelings. In real life, kahit masakit tangapin yung katotohanan, dapat yun ang ating pipiliin. So, as we end, I’d like the viewers to learn to be brave to accept the truth,” Mikee told Manila Standard Entertainment.

“My character also teaches the viewers to chase their dreams. She wants people to know that when you want something, and your heart is into it, you really need to strive for whatever your heart desires. It’s all about the lesson of never giving up. You will naturally attract the energy that you deserve na magugulat ka na lang nandoon ka na sa place na pinagdarasal at pinaghihirapan mong marating for so many years,” she added.

Kelvin recognizes the kind of person his character portrays in the story and he wants the audience to see what’s inside his heart.

“Sana mabaon nila yung gustong ipahayag ni Harvey na we should always follow our heart.

For him, love is a choice. It’s a choice most of the time. Harvey’s love is on a different level, so I hope the viewers learn to be like him,” he stated.

The cast of fantasy drama ‘The Lost Recipe,’ GTV’s first daily primetime television series.

Paul Salas plays an intriguing character in the series. He said his role adds flavor to the story by teaching them to love without expecting anything in return.

“And when you love, there should always be an effort to make the other person feel your genuine intention,” he stated.

Finally, Thea Tolentino, who plays another pivotal role, talks about choosing yourself and finding the real meaning of happiness.

“If you really want to find the meaning of success, first you need to be happy with what you’re doing. You need to ask yourself if you’re happy because if you’re not, most probably you’re investing in the wrong person or career. It’s going to be a waste of time. Another thing that my character teaches the viewers ay yung pag-pili sa sarili, it’s not bad to think of yourself first if that would make you happy,” she stressed.

Written by Erwin Caezar Bravo, and directed by Monti Parungao, The Lost Recipe airs its final episode on March 31 on GTV.
