One of GMA Network’s top leading men Mikael Daez is loyal to the Kapuso network. He recently renewed his contract.

Mikael said he is very excited about this new milestone in his career as a Kapuso, “I love it here. I think a big factor for that is I’ve grown here. Dito na ako lumaki. Going on my seventh year in showbiz on GMA, ang dami ko ng friends. It feels good, kasi when you mix your work and personal life, it feels fun. Your work is your life already. Nag-e-enjoy talaga ako.”

GMA Entertainment TV’s Senior Vice President Lilybeth G. Rasonable; Senior Assistant Vice President for Alternative Productions Gigi Santiago-Lara and GMA Artist Center Assistant Vice President and Head for Talent Imaging and Marketing Unit Simoun Ferrer were there during the contract signing along with Mikael’s co-manager, Betchay Vidanes. Mikael is co-managed by GMA Artist Center.

Mikael is one of the lead stars of the Afternoon Prime series Legally Blind. He said he really enjoys working with everyone on set and he feels challenged with his character’s transformation as the story progresses. From being Grace’s (Janine Gutierrez) knight-in-shining armor, Edward becomes drug dependent because of his brother William’s (Marc Abaya) manipulative ways.

“Actually, hindi ko alam na mangyayari ito sa character ni Edward. I am super thankful because they gave me an opportunity to do something challenging. I am even more thankful dahil Direk Ricky (Davao) and the whole cast, they’ve been supporting me, at ang laking bagay nun. So I think we’ve enjoyed and we’ve done our best to portray our characters in their truest sense, so we are very happy.”

Meanwhile, Rasonable has nothing but praises for Mikael and she believes that he is one of the Network’s hardworking actors.

“He started out talagang very new. We noticed him in a commercial and we asked him to come in because we saw a lot of potential in him.  So we invested in him, in time, in giving him projects that would build him up. Siya naman for his part, he really greatly improved as an actor and host, at kumbaga, it was a mutual decision to partner together. So, we are very glad that he’s happy with GMA. Sabi nga niya kanina sa akin, he’s not going anywhere, and we’re very gratified with that. At the same time, tayo rin naman, we will always be here to support him.”

Teen King Daniel Padilla was pleasantly surprised when his mom Karla and ABS-CBN executives hatched an advance celebration at Manila House, Bonifacio Global City on April 24—two days before his actual birthday.

The guests, including family, friends, showbiz movers and media colleagues, enjoyed the spectacular view of the city’s lights at night, amid an overflow of food, drinks and non-stop music provided by a live acoustic band.

Spotted at the party were Kapamilya bosses Charo Santos-Concio, Cory Vidanes, and Carlo Katigbak; Vice Ganda; lovey-dovey couple James Yap and Michela Cazzola; and of course, the better half of the trendsetting KathNiel loveteam, Kathryn Bernardo.

Former San Juan Vice Mayor and former DLSU cager Francis Zamora also felt equally at home in the presence of longtime showbiz friends and fellow cagers including James, whose son MJ is Zamora’s godson.

Greatly excited about an impending business partnership with the Teen King, Zamora also  disclosed that Daniel and Vice Ganda will be his partners in District 8, a gastropub opening soon in San Juan where celebrities, athletes and high-profile personalities will converge for good food, drinks and music.

Their other business partners include PBA stars James Yap and Marc Pingris, former PBA cager and San Juan councilor Paul Artadi, superstar DJ Ace Ramos, chef Kel Zaguirre and Ayala Land premier senior manager Charlton Yu.
