In a recent virtual interview, Carla Abellana expressed her gratefulness that her soap opera Love of My Life already came back after tapings were put on hold because of the pandemic.
“We started airing again two weeks ago. Admittedly, this COVID-19 virus has caused anxiety and fear on my part but despite that, I still have a lot to be thankful for a lot of things,” she told some select members of the entertainment press.
“First is that I still have work to come back to. We were able to go back and finish the show. We are grateful to GMA and everyone else behind the soap. It was indeed one good way to end 2020,” she added.
The be-dimpled actress recalled the times when she had to make some adjustments because of the pandemic.
“These past months have been busy, but the entire year practically started off well. But because of the pandemic, I had to adjust. It was very difficult at first since I was alone at home. I have to do the household chores by myself like washing, cleaning, cooking, and even taking care of the dogs.”
Interestingly, it was also during these trying times when she got to know her beau Tom Rodriguez better.
“2020 was the year that Tom and I spent most of the time together. Thankfully, right before the lockdown, he moved in to my place. Actually, we’re used to the set-up that when he’s busy with a show, I’m the one who’s resting or vice-versa,” she shared.
“But this time, it was a challenge for us. I’m happy though because I had an extra hand of help when he came. We take turns in washing the dishes, sweeping the floor, mopping, cooking, and bathing the dogs. I’m not embarrassed to admit that we really had lots of arguments along the way which I think are just normal for any couple. For me, it was an acid test. I’ve learned so much about Tom and I would say that our relationship became stronger,” she carried on.
Carla also revealed that she and Tom learned to do new things because of the pandemic.
“Yes, like vlogging. It was challenging because we have to do everything at home. There are no crew members. We didn’t have a cameraman or a lighting director. We didn’t have our own equipment. We had to upgrade and do everything ourselves. We found it challenging although you will miss the crew, the support. We really had to compromise. It was difficult because not everything was easily accepted,” she said.
Speaking of Tom, the lovely star excitedly informed that his deceased character in Love of My Life will come back.
“Yes, as Stefano. We’re grateful that Tom was able to tape for a day or two. Who would have thought that because his character is already dead in the story, he won’t be able to tape anymore? The viewers should watch out for it,” ended Carla.
