Gwapulis Willy Quinto wins at international pageant in Thailand

Police Corporal Willy Quinto bested fifteen working men from around the world to capture the first Mr. Working Men International 2019 title, in the finals held in Bangkok, Thailand on Monday night.

Quinto, who nearly backed out of the contest when he figured in a road accident before his departure to Thailand, is the grand winner of the ABS-CBN Umagang Kay Ganda “Gwapulis 2016 contest. He is a native of Pampanga and presently works at the Valenzuela City Police Station.

“I chose my work (as a police) because I want to help others. By helping others, especially, the children, they would help you in return, they are the future of our country,” Quinto’s answer when asked the question ‘why he chose his work’ during the final interview.

Quinto followed on the feat of another cop Neil Perez who won Mr. International 2014.

Quinto was also awarded one of the three Ambassadors of the Young Thai Organization, with Borneo and Malta. His Ifugao-inspired national costume was made byEdwin Uy. Michelle Anne Constantino guided Quinto in this journey to Thailand.

The USA and Colombia were named first and 2nd runner-up, respectively, while Thailand and Cambodia finished as 3rd and 4th runners-up, respectively.

Rounding out the Top 10 were India, Laos, Cameroon, Malaysia and Brazil. Special awards were USA, Mr. Strong Man; Cameroon, Mr. Body Perfect; Lao, Mr. Friendly; Vietnam, Mr. Smart Man; Brazil, Mr. Sexy Man; Switzerland, Mr. Charming; Mr. Cambodia, Mr. Photogenic; Mr. Talent, Mr. Andres Island; Mr. India, Best in Relationship; Mr. Malaysia, Best in National Costume; and Ambassador of Working Men, Thailand.

Mrs. Tourism 2019 coronation tonight  

Six crowns are at stake when the 3rd edition Mrs. Tourism 2019 pageant unfolds in Tanghalang Pasigueño tonight. 

Nearly thirty delegates, married women and single mothers, from all over the world, will vie for the titles of Mrs. Tourism Universe, Mrs. Tourism World, Mrs. Tourism International, Mrs. Tourism Earth, Mrs. Tourism Globe, and Mrs. Tourism Queen Mother.

 Mrs. Tourism 2019 is a presentation by Megastar Productions, headed by its CEO/president and founder Ovette Ricalde, in cooperation with the Pasig City Hall and the city’s Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office.  

Ricalde has been discovering and handling many national beauty queens since 1989 and got involved with Mrs. World as the long-running license for the original pageant for married women from 1999 to present.

 The winners of Mrs. Tourism 2019 will be the face and voice of the pageant’s advocacy to stop racial discrimination while at the same time promote her own personal social platform. Each of the six winners will be dubbed “The Mother Who Cares for the World.”

The country’s representatives are Giselle Legaspi Barrion (Philippines) and Cheryl Fordan Villanueva (Philippines-South). 

Barrion, a 38-year-old entrepreneur from Quezon City, is a facilitator at University of Santo Tomas Graduate School and is a Philippine Empowered Woman of the Year 2019 Awardee. She received her Master’s degree in Business Administration at UST Graduate School and pursues her PhD in Organization Development at S A I D I Graduate School of Organization Development.

 Villanueva, a 42-year-old educator awardee and recognized National Resource person from Makati City, is Mrs. Universe Philippines Finest Woman Universal Tourism 2019 and MUPFW World’s Fashion and Arts.

 The other candidates are Olive Wheeler (Australia), Farhana Afrin Oyshe (Bangladesh), Jonabel Zambrano (Canada), Manisha Gaur (Indi Universe), Aneeta Bhusal (India World), Deepali Gokhe (India International), Kavita Thakur (India Earth), Hiromi Amako  (Japan), Eri Takayanagi (Japan Asia), Malaythong Sirisak (Laos), Nadia Jooste (New Zealand), Alice Lee Soo Bee (Singapore), Roxanne Theresa Wang (South Africa), Melodie Chen  (Taiwan), Apipapha Jankaen (Thailand), and Misuzu Akagi (Tokyo).
