The ubiquitous Kris Aquino wasn’t called Queen of All Media for no reason. You see, all of us are just her mere viewers and she controls the entire show unabated.

Kris Aquino with millennial love team Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto during their films grand media launch held Monday.

Kris’s digital program has the backing and support of 53 sponsors and it is because of them and her generosity, she was able to pull off a Christmas in June moment in the press conference for her movie she co-shares with the love team most likely to fill the John Lloyd Cruz-Bea Alonzo void.

From high end supermarket gift certificates, bank cash cards, high-definition television sets, top of the line android phone and a MacBook to mention a few, the “Queen of All Media” stirred the hornet’s nest inside the Dolphy Theater in a wonderful way of course, bringing glee and happiness to the entertainment press.

Without any doubt, the press conference to promote the movie I Love You, Hater that also stars Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto, became the Kris Aquino show, with revelations coming about anything and everything, mostly coming from her.

Julia Barretto, says Aquino, “She is Bimby’s new love. He told me, ‘Mom, Ate Julia is just 18 years old, right? In 7 years, I can make her ligaw,’ Sorry, Joshua, my son is waiting in the wings.”

She goes on with the storytelling, “Bimb was always with me during the shoot so that he could see Julia. I remember when we had a break during the shoot, Bimby kissed me 40 times and tuwing may one kiss siya sa akin on my cheek, sa lips kay Julia.”

“Iba ang kamandag niya, my son sees a future with her,” she laughs, composes herself and carries on, “What I like most about her, napakabait and napakaganda.”

“He is genuine and sincere,” enthuses Kris as she talks about Joshua. “He does not forget lines and in the few instances that he did, immediately, he apologizes and requests for another take. He is amazing. He needs to work. That is true but the work needs. He is the real deal. In 10 to 15 years’ time, he is going to be one of our greatest actors.”

Kris frankly states, “Before I said yes to the project, I watched their movies, Love You To The Stars and Back and Unexpectedly Yours. I saw something special with the two of them. I know they are good in their TV shows, Julia was in the show with Bea, Joshua was in The Good Son. Sa big screen, iba sila. I know working with them, para akong nakasandal sa pader. Ay, bongga! Yes ito.”

Her character, contrary to what others think, is not a Devil Wears Prada Miranda Priestly copycat.

“She’s mabait, pinaglaban ko yun. I believe that you can become successful without stepping on anyone. As much as she is successful and driven, she has vulnerability. She has unfinished issued with an ex.”

She became more candid about the state of her romantic heart, “When you are still capable of hating someone you once love, that means there is still love. Pero 'pag deadmabels ka na, that means naubos na ang love. I still care about him. Wala na akong pakialam sa tatay ni Bimby. He still can make me hate him that means I still have feelings for him. I don’t want to lie. He still manages to upset me.”

Love and hate, two very strong emotions, are prominent fixture in her rainbow-colored life.

“You don’t let hatred win, If they still can get you, they have won,” declares Kris. “It was a long process to get to this point, you have to know your enemies and choose your battles carefully.”
