BINI Maloi took to her social media accounts to address the issue linking her with OPM singer Rico Blanco after they were spotted together in La Union.
A short clip went viral showing Rico and Maloi crossing the street as a fan greeted the P-pop artist.
On Thursday, Jan. 9, the “Pantropiko” singer reposted Philstar.com’s story, asking people to stop spreading fake news.
“STOP SPREADING FAKE NEWS. PLS LANG,” Maloi wrote.
This sparked criticism against entertainment reporter Jan Milo Severo, with fans making “PHILSTAR APOLOGIZE TO MALOI” trend online.
Severo responded, stating that the article mentioned Maloi and Rico were accompanied by other OPM singers.
“The article states that Maloi and Rico weren’t the only ones in La Union. The video just went viral, and since Rico and Maloi are the most popular, they were highlighted in the headline. The title was phrased as a question, and it’s good that Maloi immediately clarified. End of story,” he said.
