Na-hack! Dennis Trillo trends after ‘May ABS pa ba?’ comment, agency issues statement

Actor Dennis Trillo’s talent agency, Aguila Entertainment, issued a statement on Monday, July 1, following a controversial comment left on his TikTok account.

The agency claimed that Trillo’s account was hacked and that the comment, which some perceived as a jab at ABS-CBN, was not made by him.

The comment sparked online discussion when a netizen asked Trillo on TikTok if his wife, Jennylyn Mercado, was transferring to ABS-CBN due to her absence in GMA’s latest station ID. A comment supposedly from Trillo’s account replied, “May ABS pa ba?”

Aguila Entertainment responded quickly, stating that Trillo’s account was compromised around noon on July 1. They emphasized that the comment did not reflect Dennis’ views and assured the public it wasn’t him.

“We would like to inform the public that Dennis Trillo’s TikTok account was hacked around noontime today, July 1, 2024. There were some comments made using his name, and we assure everyone that it was not his doing,” the statement read.

“It is very unlikely of Dennis to make such remarks, as he is a person who has nothing but kindness and respect in his heart. We are currently addressing the matter to prevent this incident from happening again. Thank you,” it added.

Jan Enriquez, Aguila Entertainment’s general manager, further clarified on X that Dennis is filming “Pulang Araw” and has limited phone access. He also advised the public to avoid assumptions and stated they were investigating the situation.

“We are investigating the situation but do know that it was not Dennis. He is currently taping for Pulang Araw and has limited access to his phone as per his PA. We advise the public not to jump to conclusions regarding this incident,” he wrote.

On the other hand, Dennis has yet to comment on the issue.
