Actor Daniel Padilla recently teamed up with Lourds Adalia-Evertse and chef Cristine Caringal-Melad to co-own a new Filipino restaurant named Spice Grill in Dubai. Located at the Al Ghurair Center’s Flayva food hall, it marks the second branch for the restaurant, with the first already operating in Sharjah.
An Instagram post by Spice Grill announced the opening, featuring Daniel and expressing their excitement to bring Filipino flavors to Dubai.
“Dubai vibes just got spicier! Teamed up with [Daniel Padilla] to bring you the best of Spice Grill. Maraming salamat sa inyong lahat sa patuloy na pagsuporta,” the post read.
In an interview with UAE-based newspaper The National, Daniel shared his enthusiasm for the venture and his admiration for Dubai’s dynamic environment. He spoke about the city’s endless possibilities and his long-held dream of starting a business there.
“This place has changed a lot and it’s really impressive. I’ve always loved coming to Dubai, and I have envisioned myself starting a business here,” said Daniel.
“The entire city is built around endless possibilities and the idea that anything you can imagine can be done,” he added.
In terms of its offerings, Chef Caringal-Melad has curated a special menu featuring a wider selection of regional Filipino dishes, setting Spice Grill apart from the other options in the food hall.
It served seafood specialties in “boodle fight-style,” a communal dining experience popular in the Philippines.
