The great Jaclyn Jose is still getting her flowers, as kids say these days.

Festival de Cannes paid tribute to the late award-winning actress, who made history as the first Filipino to win the Best Actress at the French film festival.

Jose, Mary Jane Guck in real life, was recognized in 2016 for her powerful performance in “Ma’Rosa” that was directed by Brillante Mendoza.

In an Instagram post, the festival honored the renowned actress’ contribution to Philippine cinema.

“On learning of the death of Filipina actress Jaclyn Jose, the Festival de Cannes remembers her face beaming with emotion when she received the Award for Best Actress in 2016 in Brillante Mendoza’s ‘Ma’Rosa’,” the post read.

“As with so many of her roles, she illuminated this beautiful portrait of a woman, embodying it with grace and humanity,” it added.

The veteran actress began her acting journey in the 1980s and was actively working until her death.

She last played the role of prison warden Dolores Espinas in the television series “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.”

Throughout her career, Jose received numerous accolades, including awards from Gawad Urian, Famas, and Luna Awards.

She was found lifeless in her home on March 2 due to a heart attack, her daughter Andi Eigenmann confirmed.
