Canning giant Ligo officially introduced actress Carla Abellana as its newest endorser during its recently held 65th Anniversary celebration.
A self-confessed fan of the klasik sardine brand, Carla joins real-life boyfriend and actor-singer Tom Rodiguez, who has been part of the Ligo family since last year.
“It feels amazing to be a part of something close to my heart like Ligo—and it’s all the more special to be working with Tom. It’s actually our first endorsement together so we’re both ecstatic for the many exciting things we’ll be doing with the brand,” shares the primetime actress.
The couple’s first commercial together, Odong Mas Lami, which can be viewed on Ligo Facebook (www.facebook.com/ligo.philippines) and YouTube (Ligo Brand – Philippines) pages, became an instant hit among the fans of the couple.
For generations, Ligo Sardines has been a part of the Filipino household as a staple klasik that brings back memories of coming home and sharing a meal with loved ones. For its 65th anniversary, it brought together brand partners and friends from the media for an intimate gathering to celebrate its milestones.

The evening capped off with the unveiling of Ligo’s new and exciting product variants: Ligo Sardines with Calamansi, and Fried Sardines in Oyster Sauce and in Portuguese Style, which will all be available in September; and Ligo Sardines Tuyo Style, which will be launched by the end of the year.
