Pampanga native Raven Lansangan chose to skip graduation to be able to compete at Mr. International 2018, which finals night happening today in Yangoon, Myanmar.
The 20-year-old Mabalacat, Pampanga native and graduating student of Holy Angel University was supposed to receive his diploma degree in Business Administration major in Business Management on April 25. Instead, he chose to be in the Southeast Asian country to compete against 40 delegates from around the world.
“No pressure at all. After the hard work, finally the long wait is over. I’m ready and so excited for the greatest battle of my life. I will do my best to make you all proud,” said the bedimpled ads model at his send-off party hosted by the Prime Event Productions Philippines, Inc. (PEPPS) Foundation headed by Carlo Morris Galang.
Giving moral support to the 5-foot-11 model were the reigning 2017 Misters of Filipinas titlists for Man of the World Clint Karklins Peralta, Mister Supranational Yves Campos, Man of the Year Rubi Kinst, Mister Ocean Carlo Pasion and Mister Universe-TourismIon Perez and event host Mr. International 2016 semi-finalist Miguel Guia.
Lansangan, who plays basketball and volleyball and loves dancing and listening to classical music, aims to win the same title won by police office officer Mariano Flormata, aka Neil Perez, in 2014. He wants to win and use his title to further help promote his advocacy on raising awareness against drugs through creation of sports programs and activities for the youth.
Lansangan will wear for his national costume designed in honor of Lakandula’s grandson, Datu of Arayat Don Juan Macapagal during the Pampanga Revolt of 1660. It’s by well-known Pampanga designer Derek Maniego, and formal suits by fellow KapampanganJune Angeles.
The 12th edition of the Mr. International pageant will be held at Myanmar’s National Theatre with webcast live thru Misterinternational.net.
