People…are talking about

Nadine Lustre

Her childhood dream has come true after she’s been named Nickelodeon’s Favorite Pinoy Star beating out fellow Kapamilya stars Janella Salvador, Liza Soberano and Kapuso talent Janine Gutierrez. And this just made everything clear, Nadine has more fans who are willing to stay online for hours to put their idol’s name in the top stop. Talk about loyal fandoms.

Tawag ng Tanghalan

Is it really worth it that Showtime had put too much effort on its episode dedicated to amateur singers? We believe so. Based on the latest viewership data from Kantar TNS, the noontime show scored 33.6 percent ratings on Saturday during the TNT finale. Meanwhile, Based on NUTAM (Nationwide Urban Television Audience Measurement) data of AGB Nielsen, its number was 7.4 points higher compared to its Kapuso counterpart. Well, bilog kasi ang bola.

Iza Calzado

After Brillante Mendoza’s historic win last week in a filmfest in Malaysia, it’s now her turn to step into the spotlight. In this year’s Osaka Asian Film Festival, where 16 films were in competition, Iza was given the Yakushi Pearl Award, the highest honor given to an actor in the film event. The actress was recognized for her role in the psychological thriller helmed by seasoned director Jerrold Tarog.

Impostora

After Encantadia, Mulawin will be next, and there’s another one in the pipeline, a remake of the 2007 drama series that starred Sunshine Cruz and Iza Calzado. You see, it seems that feeding viewers with recycled drama series is now the name of the game at the Kapuso lot. Don’t they have a creative pool of brilliant minds that can come up with original and fresh concepts for their drama lineup? That’s quite ironic for a network that claims to be the best in this field.

Cesar Montano

Three months as a government functionary andnow the former action star is now facing some serious allegations from the same people who work in his office. Firm and defiant, he said the allegations thrown at him are baseless. This means Tourism Promotions Board employees, who pointed out numerous irregularities committed in the exercise of his duties, just created these accusations out of nothing. Oh yeah, it’s an evil plot to manage him out of the post that he’s not even qualified to hold to begin with.

Mika dela Cruz

The teen star affirmed that her decision to cut her ties with her former network was a wise one. She even listed down the good things that happened including being surrounded by a bunch of professional staff, helpful colleagues, and a new set of fans. What she didn’t mention though was her career going down the drain since moving to the other side.
