Filipino-American comedian Jo Koy commended the cabin crew of Philippine Airlines Flight PR102 for their professionalism during an emergency landing at Haneda Airport in Tokyo.
The flight, which departed Manila for Los Angeles on the evening of April 9, was diverted after smoke was detected in the cabin. In an Instagram story posted April 10, Jo Koy, who was onboard with his family, said the crew “went above and beyond,” calling them “amazing” for remaining calm and guiding passengers through the situation.
Philippine Airlines said the smoke came from one of the aircraft’s air-conditioning units. All passengers were safe, and no major damage to the aircraft was reported. Jo Koy added that he and his family are waiting for their flight back to the U.S.
