Host and lifestyle journalist Tim Yap has signed with GMA Network’s talent agency Sparkle, returning to the network where he previously headlined his own talk show.
The contract signing was held Tuesday, March 18, with GMA senior vice president Annette Gozon-Valdes and Sparkle first vice president Joy Marcelo present.
Marcelo described Yap as the “spark” the agency had been looking for, citing his influence and potential to guide younger artists. Gozon-Valdes welcomed Yap back, recalling his earlier projects with GMA and saying it was an honor to have him rejoin the network.
“I’ve been such a fan of GMA since I was a kid. And now that it’s GMA’s 75th year, I’m honored and humbled to be back in this building to build new memories with you,” Yap said.
Yap previously hosted The Tim Yap Show from 2013 to 2015, co-hosted Miss Universe Philippines 2024, and appeared in the Philippine adaptation of Start-Up in 2022.
He said he aims to return to television with bigger projects this year. “For my personal goals, I want to continue hosting and do more television. This year is like my big TV comeback,” Yap said.
Gozon-Valdes confirmed Yap’s plans include appearing in a GMA drama series. “I think Tim’s character in the industry won’t be complete without him appearing in entertainment shows not just as a host, but also in acting,” she said.
