Actors Jason Abalos and JC De Vera joined community celebrations in Bohol and Negros Occidental in January, bringing entertainment and a message of support for grassroots initiatives.
Abalos attended SB Night in Cortes, Bohol, where he performed and spoke with residents about their concerns. The event, organized by Mayor Conchita Delos Reyes and Board Member Angilita Toribio, focused on strengthening local ties.
Abalos, who grew up in Pantabangan, Nueva Ecija, shared his connection to rural communities and the importance of working together for progress.
He later traveled to the Carmen Gymnasium for the Beauche Night Eve festivities, where he received a warm welcome from the crowd. Vice Mayor Rodrigo Dennis Uy and Board Member Goldie Herera supported the event, where Abalos emphasized the value of community empowerment and unity.

Meanwhile, in Kabankalan, Negros Occidental, De Vera took part in the 49th Sinulog Festival on Jan. 16. The festival, known for its cultural and religious significance, drew large crowds.
De Vera joined the celebrations and shared messages of hope and solidarity, reinforcing the importance of preserving traditions and supporting local communities.
Rep. Alfred “Apid” Delos Santos of Ang Probinsyano Partylist (APPL) commended both actors, who are also part of their growing roster of celebrity volunteers, for engaging with the public.
“The events in Bohol and Negros Occidental show the spirit of cooperation and compassion in our communities. We will continue pushing for programs that improve lives, and I appreciate Jason Abalos and JC De Vera for being part of these celebrations,” Rep. Delos Santos said.
