There’s a new channel in town, and it is setting ambitious goals for 2025.
With a renewed focus on cultural promotion, international collaboration, and innovative projects, The New Channel (TNC) – a digital platform known for its advocacy-driven and thought-provoking content – aims to amplify Filipino ingenuity on a global scale.
This year, TNC is expanding its multimedia content featuring Filipino culture, creativity, and talent. Through partnerships with thought leaders, content creators, and industry experts, both locally and internationally, the platform seeks to establish the Philippines as a hub of excellence in the digital space.
Flagship initiatives such as Global Women Who RULE, Me and My Outstanding Mother, and Like Father, Like Son will take on new dimensions in 2025. TNC plans to integrate more face-to-face events while maintaining its robust live-streaming capabilities to reach audiences across the Philippines and beyond.
In collaboration with PraXis Experiential, TNC will continue managing the Philippine franchise of The Karaoke World Championship (KWC). This initiative aims to discover emerging talents and provide opportunities for international exposure, including entertainment management contracts. TNC also plans to deepen its involvement in music festival marketing, management, and production, both locally and globally.
A recent legal win has reaffirmed TNC’s commitment to excellence and intellectual property rights. The Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) ruled in favor of TNC in December 2024, affirming its trademark rights over “TNC”—a battle initiated in 2021.
“This victory allows us to move forward with renewed focus and serves as an example for businesses to stand up for their intellectual property rights,” said Apple Esplana-Manansala, TNC’s president and chief executive producer. “This comes at a crucial time as we encourage brands and content creators to champion integrity and excellence online.”
TNC’s legal team, JRSantiago & Associates, stressed the importance of ethical use of intellectual property, cautioning against its misuse to undermine rightful owners.
In retrospect of TNC’s journey since its inception during the global pandemic, Manansala remains optimistic.
“As we step into 2025, TNC is committed to producing content that uplifts, promotes digital responsibility, and showcases Filipino talent on the world stage. We look forward to fostering more collaborations that will allow us to create meaningful content, not just for the Philippines but for a global audience,” she said.
