Dragons Entertainment Productions Inc., co-founded by beauty expert Bambbi Fuentes and entrepreneur Tine Areola of Baitlehem, officially introduced its new generation of talents, the Dragon Babies, at a launch event at Music Box in Quezon City on Jan. 5.
The talented lineup includes Khai Flores, Shira Tweg, Jace Eusebio, RJ Enzo, Jay Montero, Migs Coloma, and the girl groups Gandaras and Ir1zz. The event showcased the Dragon Babies’ diverse abilities, ranging from acting to singing and dancing, positioning them as emerging stars across various entertainment fields.
A key moment of the launch was the recognition of Sugat sa Dugo (Wounded Blood), Dragons Entertainment’s advocacy film on HIV/AIDS, which earned international acclaim. Lead stars Shira Tweg and Khai Flores won Best New Actress and Best New Actor, respectively, at the 39th PMPC Star Awards for Movies. Veteran actress Janice de Belen also received an international acting award for her performance in the film.
The girl groups Gandaras and Ir1zz impressed the audience with their dynamic performances, singing original singles and covers of their favorite groups.
“We’ve worked hard to prepare them for every opportunity,” said Bambbi.
The debut of the Dragon Babies is notably timed, Bambbi noted. It coincides with the end of the Year of the Wood Dragon on Jan. 28 and the start of the Year of the Wood Snake on Jan. 21, symbolizing a new beginning for the talent group.
Dragons Entertainment also teased upcoming projects, including new films, TV appearances, and collaborations with major production companies.
The Dragon Babies, formed during the COVID-19 pandemic, were initially trained through various workshops and acting projects in Bambbi’s beauty salon, which was converted into a studio during the lockdown.
Khai and Shira, who starred in Sugat sa Dugo, were among the first protégés to gain recognition for their work, earning accolades for their performances alongside veteran actors Janice de Belen and Sharmaine Arnaiz.
Sugat sa Dugo also introduced Christa Jocson, the leader of Gandaras, an emerging P-pop girl group. The group has recently gained attention for their debut single “Kiss” and has been performing at corporate events.
