Veteran television host-actor Vic Sotto is preparing to take legal action against filmmaker Darryl Yap, following the release of a teaser for the latter’s upcoming movie, “The Rapists of Pepsi Paloma.”
In a report from TV5, Sotto and his legal counsel are set to file a formal complaint at the Muntinlupa City Regional Trial Court on Friday, Jan. 9.
On Thursday, Jan. 2. Yap shared on his social media platforms the teaser linking Sotto to the controversial case surrounding the alleged rape of Pepsi Paloma, a 1980s actress and member of the “soft drink beauties” trio whose death remains a topic of public intrigue to this day.
Paloma was found dead in her apartment in 1985, with authorities ruling it a suicide. Her case, however, has been marked by allegations of sexual assault and coercion, casting a long shadow over several high-profile figures, including Sotto.
The teaser’s reference to these events has reignited public scrutiny of the case and its unresolved questions.
Yap then took to his Facebook and posted a screenshot of the media advisory requesting for coverage of the filing of charges.
