Tensions between neighbors Roberto and Fernando escalated dramatically over issues of dog waste and parking, culminating in a physical altercation. On the CIA with BA segment “Case 2 Face” on June 30, Roberto complained about Fernando letting his dog poop in front of his house.
The issue worsened when Roberto confronted Fernando about a delivery vehicle for the latter’s business blocking his house, leading to a brawl. Fernando clarified that the dog belonged to his landlord, and deliveries took only a few minutes.
Senator Alan Peter Cayetano explained the legal implications, noting both could face charges if the matter went to court. “‘Di ba napakasakit kung pareho kayong makakasuhan?” Cayetano stressed.
Both neighbors expressed a desire for peace. Fernando apologized to Roberto, calling him “Tatay” and seeking friendship, while Roberto responded with willingness to resolve issues amicably.
“Pasensya. Sorry sa lahat ng nagawa ko sa ‘yo. Kung may sama na ng loob sa’kin o kung ako ma’y may sama ng loob sa ‘yo, ipagpapaliban ko na lang ‘yon, isasantabi ko na lang,” Fernando said, to which Roberto responded, “Gano’n din ako.”
Reflecting on the situation, Cayetano emphasized the importance of mutual respect and communication. “Lumaki tayo, palagi nating naririnig, ‘It takes two to tango.’ Pagka nag-away, ‘Ah kasalanan niya, kasalanan mo,’” he said. “[Pero] basta’t [may] maunang makinig muna o magpakumbaba, magpakita ng respeto, pwede talagang magkabati.”
Boy Abunda highlighted the show’s role in mediating conflicts fairly. “Ang na-realize ko na nagagawa ng ating munting palabas ay ‘yung intervention na, ‘pumunta kami dito dahil merong magme-mediate na aming iginagalang,’” said the award-winning talk show host. “One of the functions of the show is also to provide that personality na pwede nilang pakinggan… they come to the show because they know na fair — pinag-aaralan nina Kuya Alan at Ate Pia ang mga kaso — at alam nilang maririnig nila ang tama.”
CIA with BA continues the legacy of the late Senator Rene Cayetano and airs every Sunday at 11:00 p.m. on GMA7, with replays on GTV the following Saturday at 10:30 p.m.
