After nearly a decade away from the soap opera scene, Jolina Magdangal is set to make her comeback in Dreamscape Entertainment’s latest series, Lavender Fields. She will star alongside Jericho Rosales, Jodi Sta. Maria, and Janine Gutierrez, taking on the role of Lily Atienza.
In a statement, the bubbly singer-actress-host expressed her surprise and excitement upon being contacted for the role.
“I was surprised myself when Dreamscape contacted me and offered the part. I instantly got excited! The feeling is like, ‘Is this true?’ I’ve been hosting for so long, and it’s been ages since I last did a soap. When I found out, I felt a mix of excitement and nervousness,” the ‘90s star said.
Magdangal also shared her enthusiasm about working with her co-stars, many of whom she has not collaborated with before. “Yes, most of them, I haven’t worked with before. This will be the first time I’ll share the screen with them. Like Jodi, it’s exciting to work with her. We did projects together when we were younger, but this time it’s different. I watch her soaps and admire her acting skills. My mom and I are fans of her acting.”
“With Echo, we’ve been together in lots of shows abroad in the past like in TFC but this will be the first time that we’ll collaborate on a soap. So, it excites me to do a soap with him now that we’re adults.
“As for Janine, I worked with her in GMA before but that was hosting. She was just new then. I’m thrilled because now, we’re co-actors in this new soap. I’ve watched her past programs and she’s a good actress. At least, it’s a fresh screen cast so I hope the viewers will support our offering.”
Interestingly, what can she promise her loyal fans now that she’s back doing soaps?
“They will see a different Jolina in Lavender Fields. It’s different from the Momshie Jolina that they see every day in Magandang Buhay. They will see a different facet of mine with the show. If they got excited with this development, more so with me. So, hope they watch out for it,” Jolina ended.

Regine Tolentino looked her pretty and glowing self as she recently hosted the launching of Belle Blush & Glow Skin Essentials, a rising beauty product line in the market. Here, she gave updates on her current projects and plans.
“Well, my boutique recently celebrated its 25th anniversary and I feel proud and happy that we’ve come this far. I still run my dance studio and we opened a branch in Pasig,” she averred.
The dancer-actress-host is also busy with her Zumba tour.
“I make the rounds in some key provinces. I will be in Cagayan, Laguna, and Bicol. I will also fly to Canada and Japan. It’s fun!”
Many are curious if despite her packed schedule, she still misses acting.
“My doors are very open to acting projects as long as my schedule permits. I’m open to doing soap operas again. I miss tapings and shootings. Next year, I’ll be more visible. Hopefully, I can do a dance movie with Mark Herras and Maja Salvador if she already can.”
Incidentally, Belle Blush and Glow owned by politician-businesswoman Maribel Frias Vitales is presently searching for celebrity endorsers. If offered, will she accept it?
“Of course, why not? I want to help the business because it’s not only concerned about making its clientele beautiful but also giving them work as sub-retailers.”
