After being crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2024, Chelsea Manalo has been on a busy schedule, attending various events. In her hometown of Bulacan, a traditional victory parade and celebration were held in her honor, where she was greeted by proud and cheering Bulacaneous.
A short program was held in front of the Capitol building, presided by Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando and Vice Governor Alex Castro, citing Manalo for her outstanding achievement in representing her province.
Manalo also took part in the celebration of the country’s 126th Independence Day joining the Parada ng Kalayaan at the Quirino Grandstand witnessed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos. She wore a white Filipiniana terno embellished with pink roses. She was greeted by Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz at the event.
Manalo also graced the launching ceremony of the new Centro de Turismo Intramuros in Arzobispo/Anda Street in Intramuros, Manila, and the Museo de Intramuros, a groundbreaking museum that houses works of art and historical items related to Walled City’s glorious past.
A Tourism Management graduate at De La Salle University, Manalo, wearing a green dress, paid a visit to her alma mater at Taft Avenue where she got mobbed by enthusiastic students and school staff.

Artwork honors OFWs in France
While her art exhibit is still ongoing at The Manor in Camp John Hay, Baguio City, Filipino artist Myse Salonga recently donated a painting to the Philippine Embassy in Paris, France, received by Philippine Ambassador to France Junever Mahilum-West in Paris.
The painting entitled “Marianne,” was dedicated to the hardworking overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in France. Salonga recognized the sacrifices of Marianne Tan, a pharmacist who left her family and daughter in the Philippines and took odd jobs in France before she, eventually, earned a working visa.
“This piece pays tribute to sacrifices and dedication of our OFWs in France,” said Salonga, who was the 50 international artists featured in a Paris fund-raising exhibit for the children from Uganda, Tanzania, and the Philippines, in celebration of the 21st edition of Rendezvous aux Jardins, a project of the French Minister of Culture.
