Is Barangay Singko Panalo a gag show, a sitcom, or a game show? It’s all of the above, which is why main cast member Jerald Napoles is optimistic that the show will be able to touch more lives and be an entertaining program for years to come.

Speaking to Manila Standard Entertainment, Napoles admitted that doing the show feels like just “play” for them. It’s not that they’re not making an effort to improve the program, it’s just that the camaraderie among the cast is already great, and they become more natural on set, which is reflected on screen.

“We do have challenges because we want to improve the show, but when I say it’s so easy to do the show because we’re happy, it’s like we’re not working because it’s so enjoyable to work on this show. We’re like one big group of friends or family. And when the set is like that, you don’t feel like it’s work,” Napoles explained.

Jerald Napoles says that the set of ‘Barangay Singko Panalo’ became twice as fun with their
newest cast members

The fun on set has doubled according to Napoles with the new additions to their cast. Joross Gamboa and Sam Coloso recently joined the already dynamic cast of Napoles and Kayla Rivera.

Gamboa steps into the role of Kags Jo, forming the hilarious “J&J” tandem with Napoles. As quirky game masters, the duo promises to serve up laughter and unexpected twists at every turn.

“I feel more in touch with my character here because it’s like it’s just me, so I’m more natural here because I can be myself while working and enjoying the company of the other cast members,” Gamboa, who officially joined the show on April 19, said.

Meanwhile, Coloso, a Spingo alum, injects her infectious energy into the mix, doubling the charm that Rivera already brings to the table. She debuts in the show starting early May.

With these new additions, Barangay Singko Panalo aims to raise the bar even higher, offering viewers a blend of unpredictably thrilling challenges and wacky skits. From adrenaline-pumping games to laugh-out-loud moments, the show promises to keep audiences entertained and engaged as they root for their favorite contestants.

Director Percy Intalan expressed his enthusiasm for the evolving dynamics of the show, emphasizing how the introduction of new characters will further enrich the comedic and collaborative elements of Barangay Singko Panalo.

“With the arrival of Joross Gamboa and Sam Coloso, Barangay Singko Panalo is gearing up to deliver double the laughter, double the excitement, and double the fun,” Intalan said.

Barangay Singko Panalo airs Monday to Friday at 5:30 p.m. on TV5’s TodoMax Primetime Singko block, airing before Frontline Pilipinas.
