Director Philip King made his debut of not one, but two films on April 24. The coincidental theatrical release of the romantic movie Elevator and barkada summer flick G! Elyu is nothing but a big deal for the writer-director.

King is a writer-director under Rein Entertainment. He was a scriptwriter for ABS-CBN for over 10 years where he wrote numerous top-rating primetime shows such as Noah, Budoy, Juan Dela Cruz, Katorse, Kapitan Inggo, and Sana Maulit Muli.

He has also written and directed Tencent Pictures’ first Filipino Original Series, the youth-oriented drama mystery Section St. Valentine: The Disappearance of Divine streaming on WE TV, and is co-creator for the critically acclaimed TV Series Bagman.

Both Elevator and G! LU were written and directed by King. He says it represents two important phases in life – one when you are wild, young and free, and the other when you are at the crossroads of success and failure.

Rein Entertainment’s Elevator is an international co-production with Viva Entertainment, Cineko Productions, WASD Media Productions, and Dogma Films. The film stars Paulo Avelino and Kylie Verzosa alongside an international cast, including Singaporean actor Adrian Pang.

The film is a modern love story that follows two hard-working, ambitious Filipinos in Singapore who must choose between love and their dreams. Set against the vibrant backdrop of Singapore, Elevator offers a poignant narrative filmed within a hotel populated by migrant workers. It’s a must-watch cinematic experience.

ALV Films’ G! LU, on the other hand, produced with Bench and Rein Entertainment, is a summer movie. Starring Ruru Madrid, Derrick Monasterio, David Licauco, Kiko Estrada, Teejay Marquez, and Enzo Pineda alongside Katarina Rodriguez, Kimi Mugford, Sophia Senoron, Michelle Dee, and Chanel Morales, the film follows the last hurrah of summer for six friends in the VBC (Valley Boys Crew). It’s a trip to solidify their bond and live life to the fullest.

Shot against the stunning beaches of La Union, this pre-pandemic production features the hottest Bench models and promises to be the summer movie you can’t miss. Celebrating friendship, freedom, adventure, and living life on the edge, G!LU invites audiences on a wild ride filled with surfing, waves, hookups, and unforgettable parties.

Apart from Elevator and G! LU, Rein Entertainment is also co-producing The Bagman with ABS-CBN International, Dreamscape Entertainment, and Nathan Studios. Rein Entertainment’s Lino Cayetano, Philip King, and Shugo Praico firmly believe in the value of collaborating through co-productions.

Rein Entertainment had its first theatrical release last Metro Manila Film Festival 2022, for the film, Nanahimik ang Gabi that won four National Awards in the Asian Academy Creative Awards, including Best Screenplay and Best Feature Film.
