The 2D production house, led by dedicated third-year UST communication students under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Faye Martel Abugan, MA, of the UST Faculty of Arts and Letters, is bringing you two shows for a limited run.

2D’s The Encounter released its first episode on April 16 and will drop two more episodes on April 23, and 30. Meanwhile, 2D’s The Next ‘C’ will release its episodes on May 7, 14, and 21, all slated for showing from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on the UST Tiger TV Facebook page.

The Encounter brings together individuals from contrasting backgrounds for a series of discussions and interactions. They’ll tackle topics like public vs. private transportation, urban vs. rural realities, and even differing views on family dynamics. Witness how these contrasting perspectives shape the many realities in our country.

The Next ‘C’ is a variety-reality show searching for UST’s next big host. See the university’s most versatile talents compete in hosting challenges, food reviews, and impromptu interviews. They’ll showcase charisma, a key element of 2D’s vision for the “next C,” which aligns with UST’s values of competence, commitment, and compassion.

Driven by the principles of compelling and dynamic storytelling, 2D strives to produce shows that feature relatable narratives, explore social issues, and promote positive character development for young viewers.

Both shows are produced as part of a TV Production course by third-year communication students at UST’s Buenaventura Garcia Paredes, O.P. building.

The shows also let aspiring Thomasian communicators a peek into the thrilling reality of taking up communication in UST – the program behind the country’s Sine Reel, one of UST’s certifications from the ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance group, and the school’s performance in the annual student Quill awards.
