Vivamax, the Philippines’ top streaming platform, scored big at the Busan International Film Festival held recently in Busan, South Korea.

The delegation headed by Chairman and CEO Vic Del Rosario and President and COO Vincent Del Rosario, was able to close multi-picture deals with Korean and Japanese distribution companies during the Festival.

South Korean distribution outfits Lumixmedia, WithLion, and Jaye Entertainment acquired more than 40 original Vivamax titles for distribution in their territory, while, the Japanese distribution company, Nettai Museum, acquired 24 titles.

With over 60 original titles of locally produced films sold to Asian distributors and others in the foreign market this year, the Vivamax haul is one of the largest ever in Philippine entertainment history.

This feat also focuses attention on the works of fast-rising young directors and established auteurs whom Vivamax has supported and nurtured these past two years like Lawrence Fajardo, Roman Perez, Jr. Bobby Bonifacio, Jr. Yam Laranas, Topel Lee, and Brilliante Mendoza among others.

Among the most saleable titles from the Vivamax catalog are Mahjong Nights starring Angeli Khang, Sean de Guzman, Mickey Ferriols, and Jay Manalo and directed by Fajardo; Tayuan directed by Lee and also starring Khang with Stephanie Raz, Chester Grecia, and Francine Garcia; Pamasahe directed by Perez, Jr. and starring Azi Acosta, Mark Anthony Fernandez, and Felix Rocco; and Palitan directed by Mendoza and starring Cara Gonzales, Jela Cuenca, and Luis Hontiveros.

Established in early 2021 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Vivamax easily gained loyal patronage and created impressive traction with a steady schedule of releasing one new original title weekly and one new series every two weeks.   This is aside from content from its vast and varied library of over 2000 classics from Viva Films and acquired titles.

Vivamax now has over 7 million subscribers from all over the world, including Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and North America.
