Miss Ecuador, Andrea Aguilera, 22, was crowned Miss Supranational 2023 at the glitzy pageant held on Friday night (early Saturday morning in Manila) at Strzelecki Park Amphitheater in Małopolska, Poland.

However, it was Miss Philippines, Pauline Amelinckx, who captured the hearts of online fans, with many fervently believing that she was deserving of the crown. Fans took to Twitter to express their overwhelming support for the Filipino beauty queen causing her name to trend for several hours after the conclusion of the coronation night.

Miss Supranational 2023 showcased a stunning lineup of international beauty and talent, featuring 65 contestants from different countries. As the competition neared its climax, the Top 5 finalists, including Aguilera, Sancler Frantz of Brazil, Emma Rose Collingridge of the United Kingdom, Pauline Amelinckx of the Philippines, and Ngan Dang Thanh of Vietnam, eagerly awaited the final verdict.

During the highly anticipated Question-and-Answer segment, where the finalists were tested on their intelligence and ability to articulate their thoughts, Andrea Aguilera’s response resonated with the judges, ultimately leading to her victory.

The Top 5 were asked: What makes for a good brand ambassador for this organization?

“Oh my god. For me, work with Miss Supranational Organization would be the greatest honor of my life. I could travel around the world carrying its legacy. I would really love to start my own foundation to help single moms to find employment. But one of the most important things for me, the Miss Supranational platform, makes me accomplish one of the most, the biggest dreams of my life. This is studying medicine by my own funds, become a doctor, and continue helping people,” Miss Ecuador said.

Meanwhile, Miss Philippines exemplified the qualities of an exceptional brand ambassador through her statement:

“It would be dedication. Dedication to this journey, dedication to the people who have brought her up to this journey, and dedication of course with the organization that she’ll end up working with. This is such a beautiful experience. And she has to be someone who will bring people together. Someone who knows that this is not a one-woman journey. We all have our differences, but we also realize that we have so much in common. And we are now gathered here on this stage transcending our own borders, bringing nations together.”

Pauline Amelinckx’s remarkable performance that captured the attention of online fans did not go unnoticed.

“Ladies and gentlemen, she came so close, she did so well. Please, put your hand together as we wish our Miss Philippines, our first runner-up, a huge congratulations,” the female host said as the camera pans to the teary-eyed Pauline who’s being given the spotlight during the pageant.
