The mere mention of the name, Imelda, conjures a famous or even infamous personality. No one can be blamed since both personas present individuality and solidarity, popularity and influence, talent and skills, pulchritude and presence, to top them all, sustainability and longevity as well as progressive and transformational leadership.

Imelda Papin

From the two sides of the fulcrum, there is Mrs. Imelda Marcos while the other side presents Imelda Papin. The former is the impregnable leader, the former First Lady of the Philippines who deliberately rose to fame and power in the field of politics. The latter is the formidable celebrity, the Undisputable Jukebox Queen, who climbs up to popularity and influence in the field of entertainment.

From among the millennials and the Gen-Z, one may inquire still the similarities or even differences that exist between these two intriguing and strong-willed women. Both iconic, the two Imeldas possess impressive vocal talents. Marcos has an impressive operatic voice who further honed her talent at one of the prestigious academies of the country. Papin, whose musical standing is inspired by Shirley Bassey, Vicky Carr, and Pilita Corrales, is born with a powerful vocal musicality that endeared her to the general public as well as to a higher spectrum of audiences.

Coming from both financially challenged families, they were fated to generate millions of supportive followers or fans. Marcos, in her childhood, used to draw her dreams on the sand, which soon came to fruition. Papin, in her youth, became the realization of a prophetic dictation.  How about the differences? Feel free to google them.

As their destinies dictate, the two Imeldas are fated to cross each other paths. Marcos must have rubbed off her political savvy and strong leadership to Papin as the latter was elected the Vice-Governor in her province, additionally, as the undefeated and the incumbent president of the Actors Guild of the Philippine Cinema. Consequently, they become close friends and loyal allies during these challenging times.

In her  49th year in the world of entertainment towards her nth display of her impressive vocal talent and musical skill, Imelda Papin, has planned a concert to support her advocacy, a benefit show for the abused and raped children in the country.

On the celebration of her nth birthday, Imelda Papin holds her nth concert tonight at the New Port World Resorts in Pasay City. It will feature the musical ingenuity of Mike Hanopol, Hagibis, Maffi Papin, Aileen Papin, Borghe Papin, and the support of other numerous musical luminaries, under the masterful overall direction of Bobby Papin. Again, to present her talent and presence to her followers, fans, and the general public, more so, to support children who are in desperate need of a progressive and transformational project.
