Art 2 Art welcomed 2017 with the pure sound of music courtesy of Viva Voce. In the New Year’s Day epsode, host Lisa Macuja interviewed the classically trained ensemble led by soprano Camille Lopez Molina and comprised of sopranos Anna Migallos and Roxy Aldiosa, tenor Carlo Mañalac and baritone Roby Malubay.

Viva Voce opened as a summer voice camp for classically trained singers in Baguio in 2010. It has since evolved into a performing group that also trains, helps and guides young talented singers into becoming world-class artists and musicians.

On Jan. 8, theater critics Cora Llamas and Ibarra Mateo assess today’s vibrant Philippine theater scene and the factors that have contributed to this welcome development. They also talk about theater criticism as a discipline.

On Jan.15, Toym Imao shares his experiences as a multi-media artist. With an art career spanning three decades, he started out as an architectural designer and public art sculptor and is now also a writer, filmmaker and production designer.

Produced by the Manila Broadcasting and hosted by “Ballerina ng Bayan” Lisa Macuja, Art 2 Art airs on radio via DZRH (666 khz on the AM band), on cable television via RHTV (Channel 129 on Skycable in Metro Manila, Channel 18 on Cignal TV and Channel 3 on Cablelink) and online live streaming at http://dzrhnews television.tv. The show may also be viewed through the Facebook account DZRH News Television.

Manila Standard website (manilastandard.net), launched in August 2002, extends the newspaper’s reach beyond its traditional readers and makes its brand of Philippine news and opinion available to a much wider and geographically diverse readership here and overseas.

Digital Edition

In tone and content, the online edition mirrors the editorial thrust of the newspaper. While hewing to the traditional precepts of fairness and objectivity, MS believes the news of the day need not be staid, overly long or dry. Stories are succinct, readable and written in a lively style that has become a hallmark of the newspaper.
