Perpetual’s dance troupe wins at IYF World Cultural Dance Festival

The University of Perpetual Help Las Piñas Campus’ Sanlahi Pangkat Mananayaw won the silver prize award at the 2016 International Youth Fellowship (IYF) World Cultural Dance Festival in Chonbuk National University, Jeon-Ju City, South Korea.

The World Cultural Dance Festival, which is on its fifth year was participated in by 11 teams from different countries, namely Cambodia, China, Japan, India, Korea, Ukraine, the Philippines, Thailand, and Cote d’Ivoire. 

The Grand Prize was awarded to China ($5000.00), the Gold Prize ($3000.00) to Cote d’Ivoire, the Silver Prize ($2000.00) to the Philippines – Sanlahi Pangkat Mananayaw, and the Bronze Prize ($1000.00) to Korea (Righteous Stars).

The Sanlahi Pangkat Mananayaw is composed of talented Perpetualites who uphold the belief that they are catalysts in preserving, promoting, and developing the Philippine culture and the arts in the university. The group is regularly performing their repertoire of folk, and contemporary dances in dance festivals and invitational performances for various organizations around Metro Manila and nearby provinces. 

The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) gave the Perpetual Sanlahi Pagkat Mananayaw a commendation for the “outstanding achievement to represent the country with a deep sense of pride of our unique and vibrant culture.”
