Kapuso actor Aljur Abrenica gives a one-of-a-kind performance in Wagas today as he portrays April Boy Regino—who for the very first time, will share his colorful love story with wife Madel, played by Jackie Rice.
His unique singing style and easy-to-hum ditties catapulted Regino to fame and eventually earning the moniker “Idol ng Bayan.” One of his hits, “’Di Ko Kayang Tanggapin”, always cause an LSS or “last song syndrome” among listeners.
Lately though, April Boy is facing a lot of problems. He is slowly losing his eyesight. He was also previously diagnosed with prostate cancer and suffered a heart attack. Currently, he is dealing with diabetes.
Amid all these struggles, there is one person who continues to be April Boy’s number one fan, holding his hand all along: his first love and wife, Madel.
