The video said in 2016 the band members would go their separate ways.

The five-man band first thanked fans for supporting them in the last 14 years and proceeded to explain their collective decision. Vocalist Jay Contreras said, “We have decided this would be our last year together because we want to try to live outside the band.”

Kamikazee members also quickly clarified, “There was no in-fighting among us. We are happy with our decision.”

In addition, the band said, “Of course, we will miss you. We can’t say when but we’re hoping to see you again in the future,” in answer to fans who are already hoping for the band’s reunion.

Formed in 2000, Kamikazee popularized songs such as “Narda,” “Huling Sayaw,” and “Martyr Nyebera,” and released three studio albums, Maharot in 2006, Long Time Noisy in 2009, and Romantico in 2011.
