Filipina boxer Nesthy Petecio continues her stellar campaign in the 2024 Paris Olympics games, beating China’s Xu Zichun via unanimous decision in the Women’s 57 kg boxing quarterfinals.
The win moves Petecio a step closer to earning a potential gold medal for boxing, one of the most popular sports in the Philippines.

The judges gave the 32-year-old Davaoeña perfect scores in the first two rounds, which helped her gain huge advantage over her opponent.
Petecio will be facing Poland’s Julia Szeremeta in the semifinal match on Thursday, August 8. The Philippines’ bet defeated India’s Jaismine Lamboria and France’s Amina Zidani in the earlier rounds.
