“You know my feelings — one casualty is one too many. That is unfortunate,” Marcos added.

Despite this tragedy, the President praised first responders and local government units (LGUs) for their tireless work, noting that many were on their sixth consecutive emergency operation.

“I’m sure they are exhausted, but they continue to work as hard as they can. We are grateful for their dedication,” he said.

The President also acknowledged the public’s cooperation in following safety advisories, which he indicated helped mitigate the storm’s impact.

“Even with Pepito’s strength, it wasn’t as bad as we feared. We are thankful that the precautions were followed,” he stated.

He outlined ongoing rescue and relief efforts, particularly for those in isolated areas and for displaced families lacking food and water.

“Rebuilding will also start soon.”

Typhoon Pepito caused heavy rains and disruptions in affected areas; however, the government assures its swift response to restore normalcy and assist communities in recovery.
