Aquino, Pangilinan enter ‘Top 12’ in partial unofficial results

Former senators Bam Aquino and Francis ‘Kiko’ Pangilinan make unexpected waves in this year’s senatorial race, as both landed in the Top 12 based on the partial and unofficial results of the 2025 midterm elections.

Aquino surprisingly garnered the second most number of votes with 19,293,555 behind presumptive frontrunner re-electionist Senator Christopher Lawrence ‘Bong’ Go, who received 24,276,800 votes, according to GMA Integrated News.

Pangilinan took the fifth spot with 14,094,632 votes next to Senator Ronald ‘Bato’ dela Rosa, who placed third (18,566,273 votes) and ACT-CIS party-list Rep. Erwin Tulfo at fourth (15,488,160 votes) as of 10:00 p.m.

Former senator Panfilo ‘Ping’ Lacson is also likely to be given fresh mandate after receiving 13,799,032 votes at number six. He is followed closely by senatorial aspirant Rodante Marcoleta (13,784,708 votes) and former Senate President Vicente ‘Tito’ Sotto III (13,573,754 votes).

Other candidates who remain in contention were re-electionist Senator Pia Cayetano (13,262,120), Las Piñas City Rep. Camille Villar (12,240,237), Senator Imee Marcos (12,044,626) and Senator Lito Lapid (11,974,590).

Broadcaster Ben Tulfo gained at least 10,981,583 votes so far followed by Senator Ramon ‘Bong’ Revilla, Jr. (10,797,340) and Makati City Mayor Abigail ‘Abby’ Binay (10,641,985). They placed 13th, 14th, and 15th respectively and still have a chance to make it in the ‘Top 12’ as vote counting continues.
