When United States President Donald Trump visited the Philippines in November last year, the US Secret Service had to deal with one credible assassination threat against him, the British newspaper The Telegraph said.

Quoting a National Geographic documentary titled “United States Secret Service: On The Front Line,” the newspaper said US agents tracked a man who was on his way to the hotel were Trump was staying in Manila in 2017.

The man reportedly posted on his Twitter account: “Gonna be in Manila the same time as Trump… I’ll take one for the team.”

The Secret Service likewise swept Luneta Park in Manila after receiving an intelligence report that a known operative of the ISIS terrorist group was meeting with an associate there.

In the documentary, Special Agent Chad Ragan could be seen shouting into a phone: “What is going on proactively to track this guy down? I need an update. Now.”
