Palace names 16 new DoJ prosecutors

Malacañang has appointed 16 new prosecutors to beef up the country’s National Prosecution Service under the Department of Justice.

In a transmittal letter dated Feb. 12, Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea informed Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II of the appointments of Editha Canares Fernandez as senior assistant state prosecutor, and Agnes Farida Bagafora-Arellano II as assistant state prosecutor as part of DOJ’s NPS.

Fourteen of the new fiscals have been designated as city prosecutor posts, and three were designated to provincial prosecutors’ offices.

Appointed fiscals for Manila City were Senior Assistant City Prosecutors Erma Joyce Foronda Remudaro and Nelson Panapanaan Pagaduan; Assistant City Prosecutors Manolo Geoffrey Cinco Vergara and Melissa Grace Tanco Perola, while Senior Assistant City Prosecutors Julius Caesar Jorge Gaurano, Carmelita Rana delos Santos; and Assistant City Prosecutor Philomel Domantay Francisco Jr. for Makati City Prosecutor’s Office.

Nikko Reyes Batingana has been designated as assistant city prosecutor in Pasig City, while Rina Castillo Alcantara as assistant city prosecutor in Pasay City.
